Warmboard Panel R
Notes
The Warmboard R panel might be a good option, because you can install it over the existing sub floor. What I like about Warmboard is that you can run it at a much lower water temperature of 85 degrees which makes it a very good option for engineered hardwood floors.
The other option I found is the Rehau RauPanel which uses a similar concept with the aluminum panels.
It's hard to find good pricing information, but some of the estimates I found online mentioned that the Warmboard R panels are about $3 - $4 a square foot. I'm not sure if that is accurate though.

- Cooling
Proposal
Is it possible to use the same tubes used for the floor heating for cooling as well? I know it's important to control moisture and keeping the floor temperature below the dew point, but could this actually work?

Floors

Proposal
I like the wide planks. I read that engineered hardwood is the way to go for floor heating.
So far my favorite is Kahrs. The reviews are very good, their quality is great and the planks are pretty much designed for radiant floor heating. Another very cool things is that all planks are 6 feet or longer (so no random lengths) and their glue-less joint system is very nice.
The specific Kahrs products I like are:
- Kahrs Original - Vinyard - Oak Dominus (5/8" x 7 3/8" x 82 2/3"). The price is about $6.80 a square foot.
- Kahrs Original - Bayside - Oak Chesapeak (5/8" x 7 3/8" x 95 1/4"). The price is about $6.80 a square foot.
- Kahrs Avanti - Sonata - Oak Dolce (1/2" x 6 1/4" x 72''). The price is about $5.10 a square foot.
I also like Anderson Engineered Hardwood which is more a traditional product with random lengths. The one I like is
- Virginia Vintage - Historique (1/2" x 7.48" x random lengths) (see the online catalog). The price I found online is $5.79 a square foot.

- Same as the first floor?
- Use the existing hardwood from the 1st floor and refinish that?

Keim paint for the stone: White
Notes
I spoke to the US distributor (Cohalan) and they recommended the following based on my estimate of about 3900 square feet of stone walls:
- Keim Granital solicate paint (2 coats). A 25kg container will cover about 1500 square feet (one coat) and costs $517 plus shipping. They estimated we need about 155kg.
- Keim Spezial Dilution which is used to dilute the base coat. They estimated we need 20kg of that which is $401 plus shipping.
- Keim Stone Cleaner which is used to clean and prepare the stone and costs $180 for a 10kg container. They estimated we need 30kg of that
- So the rough estimate for the materials is $4,043 (excl. shipping).
